The "It can't be that easy" section

…Because it’s not easy sometimes.

It sounds like common sense but when we are down, overwhelmed, anxious, traumatized, or stressed in some other way, the part of our brain that thinks logically can go “offline.” So here are some things to keep on top of during this time intentionally.

  • Eating healthy and regular meals/snacks.

  • Getting daily water intake.

  • Getting some exercise, even if it’s just light walking. Just get out of bed!

  • Sleep hygiene - without sleep, things absolutely feel worse.

  • Get outside into nature (ask Dr. Friesen about applying for a free Parks Pass!)

  • Slow down… Our brains can swirl around and around and we get stuck and overwhelmed. Mindfulness or even just paced breathing can help.

  • Reach out to someone you trust and spend some time with them.
